Sing Us a Song You're a Dinosaur

For those of you who don't already know, I have a new niece!! My sister Betsy had a little girl yesterday afternoon: Afton Anderson. I got to see her in the hospital yesterday and she is adorable. I helped my mom watch Betsy's other two children, Porter and Reid yesterday and today. This morning we were watching Little Einstein's (on Disney I think). They always have a classical song that they base their episodes after. Today they turned dinosaurs into musical instruments to tell their heroic story. The Piccolodactyl (instead of pteradactyl) had a baby who was scared away by the Bass-asaurus Rex (T-Rex). It was up to the little einstein's to play their own piccolo to find the lost baby piccolodactyl. I've been thinking all day about the different kind of musical dinosaurs I could create. I came up with triangle-tops, Tuba-saurus, and Viola-Raptor. It's strangely entertaining.

The other day I was walking to institute in a skirt, with my scriptures in hand. It was dark and I was walking fast. I walked up behind an older, heavier set professor-looking man who could have easilybroken my arm. He turned and looked at me really quick, and then looked straight ahead. Then he turned again and said "I thought you were going to catch me and mug me!" I laughed and just said, "nope, not me!" It was really funny.

My sister Hannah got mad at me for not posting any of the pictures she took of herself with my camera over President's Day weekend, so these are for her:

Hey, I don't blame him. You might be small, but you're pretty tough too. I'll bet you could mug just about anybody if you felt like it. I like The Little Einsteins. I think it's entertaining. Especially the part where you get to pat your legs really fast to get their plane going. Such a clever idea. I mean think of the energy savings. HELLO!! Someone should talk to Obama.

Hannah, you have nice teeth! Maybe you should be a tooth model for a living.

Abby, I agree with Andy that you are tough even if your are wearing a skirt and holding scriptures.

I'm trying to think of some witty dinosaur/instrument name and I can't because there is an image of a Viola-Raptor in the way.

And I am a big fan of your paintings in the previous post.

Oh- why did I never comment on this? Thanks for posting my beautiful pics! I think my uvula is one of my best features and like to show it off whenever possible. yea, Betsy, it's only on special occasions that I show off the epiglottis too. Maybe next time.

I AM PECULIAR (this is a permanent post. If you have already read it, scroll down to see my latest)

Those of you who read my blog could probably make a list of all the reasons that you think I am a bit peculiar. No worries, I would be the first to shout an amen to everything you could think of. I know I’m peculiar; but let me tell you the number one thing on my list that I think makes me a peculiar person.

I know where I come from, why I am here and where I am going. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some of you will know me as a “Mormon” although that is just a nickname. The word ‘Saint’ just means ‘member’ in this context. I believe in God the Eternal Father, that I am a daughter of God, and that He loves me and wants me to be happy. I believe in my Savior Jesus Christ who lived a perfect life, atoned for my sins, died and was resurrected all that I might enjoy the blessing of being forgiven of my sins, and having my body and spirit reunited after death. I know that just as God called prophets in the Old and New Testament times that He has in fact called a prophet to lead and guide us today. I believe that families can live together for eternity; death does not have to be the end of our relationships with the ones we love. Some of you may wonder how on earth I can know these things. As I learn more and more from the Bible and other scriptures and actually live what I learn I see the promises the Lord has made being fulfilled in my life, and I feel the Holy Spirit bear witness that these things are true.

I know, I’m peculiar, but thankfully there are over 13 million other peculiar members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and with each year that number grows. I feel so much joy and happiness in my life because of this knowledge. If you want to know more depth about anything I have said that makes me peculiar, visit www.mormon.org. This website explains in detail much of what I have just professed to believe and more.
