This is my new Post

Well I have been having a lot of fun lately. My family signed up to have a 14 year old Japanese student stay at our house for a week. His name is Yuya and we really enjoyed him! He brought us Japanese food and candy and tried to teach us how to do Oragami. We went laser tagging, bowling, and to the dinosaur museum at Thanksgiving Point while he was here. He really liked playing card games with us and dad said he loved pancakes. We told him to come visit us again sometime and he said "okay, and you come visit me in Japan sometime." That would be fun. Caleb, Yuya and I carved pumpkins together. You can probably tell from the picture who did which pumpkin.

Kameron leave for the MTC on Wednesday! I can't believe it is finally here! I've been anticipating this day for over 2 years now. I'm sad but I'm not sad at the same time. How can I be sad that he is leaving to serve a mission? I know the Lord has a great work in store for Kameron. But I'm going to miss him. We went shot-gun shooting yesterday. I liked it, but I didn't like the sore shoulder I had afterwards. I'm not very good at shooting. I might have hit 2 clay pigeons but we couldn't tell if it was me or not. We also went to the BYU football game on Saturday. It was Kameron's last football game for 2 years. He was really happy to go and I was happy to be there with him.
I only have a month and a week left of this semester, and 2 months from next saturday until I leave for New Zealand. A couple who lived in New Zealand for 18 months came to our prep class and showed us pictures of the area we'll be living in and of people in the branch. It made me even more anxious to be there. I'm excited to learn to love the people in Invercargill and the people from BYU who are going with me.
This is Kameron, his brothers and one brother-in-law. They were heel-clicking so we took a picture. Talk about a manly thing to do at the shooting range. :)

Me Jumping.

Kameron got a 12 gauge shotgun for his birthday. He is the one closest to the camera, his sister Lexi is in the middle and then in the back is his brother Seth. Seth was bald when he came home from his mission and so was their oldest brother. Kam doesn't have a chance.
Kameron and I went 4-wheeling with his parents last week. It's hunting season so we had to wear orange! Kameron's shirt is very attractive don't you think?

I was a butterfly for Halloween and Kam was a redneck cowboy. This is us at Kameron's house with our good friend Mickey and his girlfriend Kiana.
The one in the middle is Yuya's. Doesn't it look like a Japanese pumpkin?

Abby, I love reading your blog. I am very impressed that you caught Kameron and his brothers in mid air. Tell Kameron I will miss him too and all the good times we never had together.

abby! every time I see the pic of you jumping it makes me laugh! :) you're so goofy!

I AM PECULIAR (this is a permanent post. If you have already read it, scroll down to see my latest)

Those of you who read my blog could probably make a list of all the reasons that you think I am a bit peculiar. No worries, I would be the first to shout an amen to everything you could think of. I know I’m peculiar; but let me tell you the number one thing on my list that I think makes me a peculiar person.

I know where I come from, why I am here and where I am going. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some of you will know me as a “Mormon” although that is just a nickname. The word ‘Saint’ just means ‘member’ in this context. I believe in God the Eternal Father, that I am a daughter of God, and that He loves me and wants me to be happy. I believe in my Savior Jesus Christ who lived a perfect life, atoned for my sins, died and was resurrected all that I might enjoy the blessing of being forgiven of my sins, and having my body and spirit reunited after death. I know that just as God called prophets in the Old and New Testament times that He has in fact called a prophet to lead and guide us today. I believe that families can live together for eternity; death does not have to be the end of our relationships with the ones we love. Some of you may wonder how on earth I can know these things. As I learn more and more from the Bible and other scriptures and actually live what I learn I see the promises the Lord has made being fulfilled in my life, and I feel the Holy Spirit bear witness that these things are true.

I know, I’m peculiar, but thankfully there are over 13 million other peculiar members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and with each year that number grows. I feel so much joy and happiness in my life because of this knowledge. If you want to know more depth about anything I have said that makes me peculiar, visit www.mormon.org. This website explains in detail much of what I have just professed to believe and more.
